The first class will be an informational meeting...for those who want to know more about Christian Initiation before they commit. The meeting will be on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon in the St. Michael's Meeting Room.
In 2021 the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) decided to rename the RCIA process to OCIA which stands for Order of Christian Initiation for Adults. This is a process of conversion and initiation into the Catholic Community. Those interested in learning about Catholicism come together to learn about the scriptures and the teachings of the Church. The process is grounded in each individual's personal faith journey. It is formed as an extended period of prayer, study, and fellowship so that each individual has the opportunity to grow in relationship with God and parish community.
